Verge Agriculture Closes $7.5 Million Series A Financing Led by Yamaha Motor Ventures
The Series A will support the scaling of Launch Pad by Verge, an interactive planning software for the farm
Verge Agriculture is delighted to share that we have received $7.5 million in Series A Funding led by Yamaha Motor Ventures. The funding was also supported by venture capital firms Fall Line Capital, SP Ventures and Artesian/GrainInnovate. This will help us scale our interactive planning software, Launch Pad, and positions Verge to lead the creation of a digital twin of the farm, which will help growers assess field and equipment dependencies when planning their operations.
What does this mean for growers?
“We are developing a solution that helps farmers manage their land and equipment to efficiently and remotely execute field operations, enabling farming to be truly autonomous,” says Ryan Johnson, CEO of Verge. “This capital powers our strategic plan to increase the adoption of Launch Pad in key markets including the US, Latin America, EU, and Australia. ”
Launch Pad enables growers to plan, simulate, and validate the movement of equipment in the field. By using our software, growers are able to execute field operations more efficiently than ever before. Our aim is to simplify farm planning to reduce decision making in the field and help reveal greater profit in every acre that is farmed. Growers can plan the best routes for their equipment, in their own fields. This reduces overlap and compaction, save fuel and minimize the over application of seed and fertilizer. Scaling the software will help us continue to support even more farm operations around the globe.
This funding will help us revolutionize planning even further by developing the digital twin of a user’s farm. This will help farmers characterize their fields, crops, terrain, and environmental factors that impact operational windows. It means farmers will be able to collaborate and interact with their fields and equipment like they always used to, but without actually entering their fields. Learn more about this project here.
